Labradorite – is primary rock formation, kind of anorthosite. Mainly, it consists from plagioclase — labrador with insufficient impurity (not more than 5-7 %) of pyroxenes and ore minerals. The name is given after the first discovery – at Labrador Peninsula in the North America. Polished labradorite is characterized by blue, rarely red or yellow iridiscence.
Gabbro (it. gabbro) — is magmatic intrusive rock formation of primary composition. The main minerals of gabbro are considered to be parent (rich with anorthite component) plagioclase and monocline pyroxene; some times also it contains olivine, rhombic pyroxene, hornblende and silica; the accessory components are: apatite, ilmenite, magnetite, sphen (grothite), and some times chromite.
